Join Wordier Than Thou for the September gathering for the Blah Blah Blah literary open mic series.
The evening begins with a reading from featured writer Deb Carson, author of “Becoming Flo; A  Mostly True Story”.
Bring your finest prose or a true story to share at this monthly literary open mic.
After a reading from our special guest author, things open up for local authors to share their work!
The Open Mic Rules:
1. Every reader gets 10 minutes to share their work.
2. We’ll limit each event to just 10 readers.
3. Toss your name in the bucket when you arrive. Names will be chosen at random.

About Featured Writer Deb Carson
Author Deb Carson has had a rich and multi-faceted education and career in the arts – singer, musician, photographer – and most recently, journalist and author.
“Becoming FLO” is the inspiring true story of 16 year old Abraham, the Orthodox Jewish boy who fled home in 1920 from a homophobic, abusive father, joined a traveling circus, overcame anti-Semitism, found fame, and finally, in the safety of her circus family –  herself.  A performance of sorts supported by music, interview clips and 107 projected photographs, FLO’s remarkable, bigger-than-life story shines a light on courage in an era of intolerance, the power of art to transcend, and for those who struggle similarly, illuminates a way out.
