Alexa Pérez is a theatrical director drawn to narratives that explore complexity, hope, and the spaces in between—where human connection takes root. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts from the University of Tampa and began her artistic journey as an actor before expanding into directing and arts leadership. Her recent directing credits include Ada and the Engine (Powerstories Theatre) and Enemy/Flint (University of South Florida).
As the Associate Artistic Producer and an Artist in Residence at The Studio@620, she helps shape the organization’s programming through direction, collaboration, and thoughtful storytelling.
Of Puerto Rican and Cuban heritage, Alexa approaches her work with sensitivity to identity, belonging, and nuance. As a neurodivergent artist, she values the ways different ways of thinking and experiencing the world can shape creativity and deepen empathy. Through every project, she aims to craft spaces—onstage and off—that invite curiosity, reflection, and genuine connection.
