Every city has a rhythm. MIXed: Pulse of the City listens for it.
This annual evening of contemporary dance brings together nationally acclaimed choreographers and the artists of projectALCHEMY in a celebration of movement, collaboration, and the creative spirit of St. Petersburg. Featuring new works by guest choreographers Jennifer Archibald and LaMichael Leonard Jr., alongside world premieres by company artists Jonah Perez-Lopez and Kirsten Standridge, the program offers audiences a dynamic range of artistic voices—from bold physicality and inventive storytelling to deeply personal explorations of the human experience.
The evening also features the premiere of MIXed: Across St. Pete, a dance film by cinematographer Joey Clay. Filmed throughout neighborhoods and public spaces across the city, the project captures movement beyond the theater, highlighting the relationship between people, place, and community. Serving as both a companion to the live performance and a work in its own right, the film expands the boundaries of where dance can be experienced and who it can reach.
MIXed: Pulse of the City is more than a performance—it’s a gathering of artists, audiences, and ideas. By bringing nationally recognized choreographers into conversation with the voices shaping dance in our own community, the experience creates space for artistic exchange, meaningful collaboration, and new perspectives. Each work offers a distinct pulse, and together they form a portrait of a city continually creating, evolving, and moving forward.
