DanceBreak Live: The Creation and Creatives Behind Jazz Theory

DanceDanceBreak is projectALCHEMY’s virtual/in person dance experiment created in partnership with The [email protected] Join us for a live event on Friday, March 24th at The [email protected] Alexander Jones will talk with local dance artists and collaborators about their process and practices in creating dance works. But, don’t think this is all just talking—they are incorporating a movement session within the presentation and invite you to engage in the conversations as well by sending your questions in real time. “For us, performance is only part of the process—we want to share the alchemy of dance with the community. ” – Alexander Jones
For this session, projectALCHEMY takes a look into the process of creating Jazz Theory, with projectALCHEMY Artist Director Alex Jones and local jazz icon Jeremy Carter. These two collaborators will reflect on the experience of combining the modes of jazz improvisation with dance composition and give a preview or two of the upcoming revival of Jazz Theory with Jeremy. This event will also be presented via livestream on Vimeo Live.
