Dead Poets Society: Tapping Into the Ethereal

Presented by Friends of Jack Kerouac

Literary

You’re invited to an evening marking the anniversary of Kerouac’s passing in 1969, hosted by the Friends of Jack Kerouac (or is that the The Fiends of Jack Scareowhack? Hmmm…) The night will focus on the Beat Generation’s exploration of spirituality with host Donnie Ibn Malik Ali-McClendon, live painting and interactive poetry collage by James E Hartzell, raffle prize drawings and a silent auction. Johnny White and the Xperince will start the night off with an hour of Jazz infused with Afro-Cuban rhythms and a Spanish flair. The band will also provide musical accompaniment for the Open Mic portion of the night. Attendees are encouraged to read works from Beat Poets or other writers who have passed on. A table with writing prompts will be available as well. Don’t miss this fundraising event and support of The Friends of Jack Kerouac!
