Intro to Stamp Carving Workshop

With Coralette Damme / The Crafty Hag

Signature Event Series Art

Come learn from a pro! Artist Coralette Damme has made a name for herself as The Crafty Hag, printing and selling artwork created with the same relief printing techniques that will be taught in this casual workshop. Participants will have access to tools and supplies, will receive step by step instructions to carve personalized rubber stamps, and will have an opportunity to produce small compositions on paper.

The focus of this workshop is to learn the technique of relief printmaking which can be applied to other substrates like linoleum or woodcut. Participants should expect to carve 1-3 small stamps depending on how intricate their designs are. Each stamp will be fairly small (under 2″x3″) so designs should be kept somewhat simple. Stamp designs can be based off of original line drawings or printed out black and white photographs. Stamps will be used in combinations to create postcard sized works on paper.

Class size is limited. Participants must RSVP in advance to secure their place in the workshop. Payment of class fees will be made directly to the artist. Class fee of $65 includes necessary materials.

Class will last 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
