The Rod Alnord Quartet in Concert

With guest vocalist Nicole Hoffer

Music

The Studio@620 invites you to an exciting and upbeat-style of Swing, with a mix of Latin and Contemporary music performed by the Rod Alnord Quartet on January 6, 2024 at 8PM.  With influences ranging from Chick Corea to modern composers like Braxton Cook and Nate Smith, this group is not to be missed!

Rod Alnord is a Haitian born drummer with multiple musical influences including Jazz, Gospel/Worship, and Afro-Caribbean Music. He studied at the University of South Florida under Ric Craig and Bob McCormick and has since developed his own style of playing, inspired by the explosive Elvin Jones and modern drummer extraordinaire, Brian Blade.

Accompanying Rod for the evening is the brilliant composer/saxophonist, Ross Strauser, who debuted his first album “Endless Ties” earlier this year with The Ross Strauser Jazz Orchestra. The dexterous Eric Zabala, a skillful Vibraphonist known for his ability to play Classical, Bebop, and Jazz Fusion. Ruben Davila, “Rugawd,” a gifted producer/bassist and songwriter with a love for odd meter and complex compositions! Lastly, guest vocalist, Nicole Hoffer of In The Pocket will be joining them, adding a soulful ambiance to the mix.
