Join us for the launch of NuWorks, The Studio@620’s new play development series supporting innovative works-in-progress by emerging professional and underrepresented artists. Our first featured play is Tight by Tina Esper, directed by Kristin Clippard.
At nearly 80, May has fallen head over heels for her 42-year-old handyman, Beau Jameson. Her plan? A full-body, surgical rejuvenation package. Her daughter Ophelia is horrified—until she starts questioning her own desire for reinvention. Tight is a comedy that explores aging, desire, and who gets to feel beautiful. Is it ever too late to fall in love?

About the Playwright:
Tina Esper is a Lebanese-Brazilian-American playwright and recent MFA graduate. Her plays explore the strange, charged edges of human behavior—often at the intersection of feminism, age, and dislocation. Her work includes Neighbor Jane, co-recipient of the National Partners of the American Theatre’s 2023 Playwriting Award, and Soft Star, produced at The Boston Playwrights Theatre last fall. Tina lives in the New York City area, where she was proudly raised by immigrant parents.
