What’s Wright, What’s Left: The Scotty Wright Quintet

Featuring Vocalist Scotty Wright

Music

The Studio@620 welcomes Jazz vocalist Scotty Wright on Tuesday March 29, 2022 at 7PM.  Scotty has decided that now’s the time to sing “What’s Wright”. With a warm, rich-toned voice, relaxed  delivery and knowing phrasing, Scotty’s unique sound, deeply rooted in the jazz  tradition, has earned fans here and in 20 countries around the world. Scotty is also a songwriter. Drawing material from his recordings  and performances, Scotty will share  some of his “Wrightings”.

“What’s Left” is the jazz songbook – that treasure trove of standard melodies which have withstood the test of time and  fashion. Classic compositions that have  inspired re-arrangements and re-imaginings by legends of jazz, including songs by Duke Ellington, Rodgers and Hart, Thelonious Monk, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Jerome Kern and others are guaranteed the Wright treatment.

The Scotty Wright Quintet glides  smoothly, swingingly, from one song, one mood, one groove to another, inviting listeners along for a very  satisfying ride.

The Scotty Wright Quintet includes:

David Pate – Sax

Judi Glover – Keyboard

Mark Neuenschwander – Bass

Stephen Bucholtz – Drums

Scotty Wright – Voice
