Youth Poetry Open Mic Hosted by Miesha Brundridge

The Studio@620 welcomes writer Miesha Brundridge as she offers an outreach poetry event especially for students in middle and high school. Brundridge recognizes students’ need for a safe place to express their emotions as a pathway to good mental and emotional health. This youth open mic will inspire young people to discuss their thoughts in a healthy & creative way through writing outlets such as poetry, spoken word, rap and drama. Our youth need an outlet to voice their thoughts on issues and situations that they face during daily life. This afternoon poetry open mic will offer students an opportunity to share their creativity with others. Students will meet local leaders in the community that will mentor them and help them hone their writing skills and spoken word craft.  Come join us, admission is free and everyone is welcome!
